So, a few weeks ago I hinted at some possible big news and then I just sort of left you all hanging. So I thought I'd share that now. It's not really a fun secret anymore because I have already told so many people, but for the few of you out there who don't know yet...
...we are moving. Not just across town either, but across the country. We've known that New York was always a possibility with the profession that Matt is in, and he already commutes there every other weekend for school, so when we found out that Matt's company wanted him to move there it wasn't a total shock.
Matt and I lived in Manhattan for two years when we were first married and Matt grew up on the East Coast so we are no strangers to the area, but we have been in California for over five years now and I have gotten quite used to the mild climate here so this move is going to be an adjustment. I think Matt is trying his best to prepare me though. For my birthday yesterday he gave me mostly winter-themed items: leather gloves, a puffy down vest, and a quilted jacket. I really don't think I'm going to like this whole "winter" thing one bit. It just requires too many layers!
Nobody told me that selling a house would be so stressful either. I am going crazy trying to keep this place spotless around the clock. I am already a pretty neat and organized person, but this has required me to take things to an entirely new level. Add a very active toddler on top of that, and let's just say I am praying that this house sells quickly! Since our realtor had our house staged I am also dealing with having a lot of strange new things around, including a bunch of trees and other plants. At least Ella is having fun with her new "toys". I'll leave you with a picture of her hanging out with one of her new tree friends:
