Today Ella and her friend Abigail spent the morning at their teacher Mrs. V's house cooking up dinner to bring home to their families. (Abigail won the opportunity to do this at our preschool's silent auction and invited Ella to come along.) On the menu: chicken cacciatore, little caprese salads (tomato, mozzarella & basil) on toothpicks with oil and vinegar dipping sauce, and homemade fudge sauce for ice cream sundaes. Mrs. V said it wasn't her usual gourmet cooking since she was trying to tailor the experience to children, but it was still one of the best meals we've had at home in a long time. I secretly want to adopt Mrs. V as our East
Coast grandmother since we don't have family close by...and also because I want to be invited to her house for Sunday dinner!
