Whenever Matt gets home from a weekend away at school, I tend to talk his ear off with a bunch of meaningless conversation in order to make up for 3+ days without any sort of real adult interaction. I think that is sort of what this post is going to be like. Don't say I didn't warn you.
There's nothing very exciting going on around here. Matt is in the middle of finals, so we haven't been doing too much. Ella has a new trick up her sleeve though. If you say "hello" or "hi" to her, she will say "hi" back to you. It's too darn cute! She even has a couple of talking toys (like her learning table and phone) that say "hello", and I've heard her saying "hi" back to them a few times. Hilarious.
This little girl has also developed a serious addiction to Goldfish crackers ever since I introduced them to her a few weeks ago. I can't blame her because they are quite tasty. In fact, I think I have been the one to eat most of the Goldfish we have in the house, but I digress. Ella has literally not sat still for a second since she learned how to crawl, but I have just learned that if I give her a cup full of Goldfish, she will sit quietly and eat. Amazing! So I was actually able to get a few things done around the house today while Ella sat and munched:
Ella discovered another yummy treat today. I went to Jamba Juice this afternoon to get an Orange Dream Machine (my fave!) because it was so hot outside I thought I was going to pass out from heat stroke. Well, it was really only 80 degrees, but I'm not accustomed to the heat yet since this is only about the third really warm day we've had all year. I've also never had to carry around a 19+ pound kid in the heat before. It's a workout! Anyway, as I was strapping Ella into her car seat to go home I let her have a sip of my drink and she loved it. She grabbed onto that big cup, held it in her lap and just sipped away. I even had to sit in the back seat with her for a while as she drank because she got so upset if I tried to take it away. I guess she was hot too.
I forgot to share this adorable flower clip my friend Kim sent to Ella a couple of weeks ago. How cute is this? I hope Kim starts selling these soon because I definitely want to buy some more. Thanks Kim!
I also have a couple of scrapbook pages to share. This first one tells the story of how Matt and I met. Family and friends who knew us 7 years ago already know how the story goes, but I thought I should get this down for Ella and any other future children to have. It might not be too interesting to everyone else out there, but hopefully they will enjoy reading it.

I just got this great new scrapbook idea book called "Freestyle" and the authors of this book set up a blog and challenged people to lift one of the layouts from the book. So I did and had so much fun with it even though it is totally not my normal style. Here it is (for credits see Ella's Scrapbook):
Well, that's it! Have a great weekend!
