You know, I was getting a little irritated that I have been enduring the cold weather this winter with hardly a complaint and haven't gotten one decent snowstorm in return. Honestly, what is the point of winter if you don't even have the opportunity to make a good snow angel or two? Today we finally got a respectable amount of beautiful fluffy snow though, and what's even better is that Matt spent the day at home playing with me and Ella.
First, we put Ella straight to work helping Matt clear the driveway. Just an FYI, these sleds work surprisingly well as shovels.
After we shoveled (or should I say, after Matt and Ella shoveled and I watched), we did some hard core sledding in the backyard.
Even I took a couple of runs down the hill, and let me assure you it was quite the sight. Ella was timid at first but she became a sledding daredevil very quickly. I loved how she clapped and squealed for Matt when it was his turn and yelled, "Good job Daddy!" when he reached the bottom. We also attempted a snowman but the snow was way too powdery to make anything even resembling a snowman. Luckily Ella wasn't a tough critic. Matt's little mound of snow looked just perfect to her.
Here's some extreme sledding video for your viewing pleasure. The background music is courtesy of our next door neighbors and their snowblower.

P.S. Now that we have received some snow, spring is welcome to come anytime now!
